Sniper Fallacy

In the Sniper Fallacy, which is a type of Non Causa Pro Cause, the premises or true data available are arbitrarily manipulated to produce a significant result adjusted to the pre-established conclusion one wishes to reach. -

The name refers to the “sniper” who first shoots and then draws the target around the place of impact, proclaiming his good aim. -

example:

Someone dreams of the number 7 The 7 doesn’t come out, the number 362 comes out

The premonition is confirmed, claiming that 3+6-2 equals 7
